Preheat your oven to 200°C (425°F.)
In a bowl, whisk together the egg, vanilla, sugar, milk, and salt until it’s super smooth and silky.
Sift in your flour and whisk until combined and there are no lumps. Set aside in fridge.
Add 1/2 tablespoon of butter to your dish until the butter melts (approx 1 minute). Carefully take your hot dish out of the oven once melted and swirl it around so the whole bottom and sides are coated.
Pour your whisked batter into the buttered dish and pop it straight back into the oven, then bake for 10-15 mins, or until it’s puffed up and golden brown around the edges. (tip, if you want a thicker pancake, use a similar sized dish, or if you’d like a thinner one, use a wider dish!)
Top with your condiments of choice, then sprinkled it with powdered sugar - but any fruit or condiments are lovely.
