Servings: 12
Author: Chef Shellie Froidevaux

Ingredients

  • 200 g unsalted butter cubed
  • 100 g brown sugar
  • 3 tbsp golden syrup
  • 250 g rolled oats
  • 50 g desiccated coconut
  • 100 g sultanas
  • 220 g milk chocolate roughly chopped
  • 1 tbsp coloured sprinkles

Instructions

  • Place the butter in a large microwave safe dish and microwave at 500W for 2 minutes, or until melted.
  • Remove butter from microwave, stir in golden syrup and brown sugar. Add oats, desiccated coconut and sultanas and stir thoroughly to coat the oats.
  • Grease and line a 24x24cm baking tin with baking paper. Spoon the mixture into baking tin and press down very firmly so you have an even layer. If you don't press down firm enough the slice will crumble when you slice it.
  • Place baking tin on the enamel tray and place onto the glass plate in the microwave oven. Press Junior Menu eight times. Press Start.
  • When finished cooking, remove from oven and allow to cool completely.
  • To melt the chocolate, place the chocolate in a microwave safe dish, and microwave in 30 second bursts, stirring in between until the chocolate has melted.
  • Pour the melted chocolate over muesli slice, sprinkle with the coloured sprinkles. Place baking tin in the fridge for at least 1 hour before slicing into 12 bars.
